Being from Kentucky, our bird is the Red Cardinal. I dyed the light grey background and this quilt was heavily machine quilted. I made the cardinal out of hand dyed red fabrics, applied some paints for accents, then added feathers to give it a three dimension. This quilt was made in 2005.
